Chantel Owner Stylist
Chantel is a distinguished Senior Master Stylist and the proud owner of Custom Hair Lounge. Her journey in the hairstyling industry began at Utopia Academy in 2000, where she laid the foundation for her career. Following her education, Chantel spent 8 years refining her craft at Spa Utopia, gaining extensive experience and expertise.
With over 23 years in the field, Chantel has established herself as a highly skilled and knowledgeable stylist. She is certified in all Babe hair extensions and, in 2019, traveled to Salt Lake City, Utah, to become a Babe extension educator. Her dedication to the craft extends beyond client service; she is passionate about mentoring and training fellow stylists in the art of hair extensions.
Chantel specializes in balayage, highlights, and various blonde techniques, with balayage being her personal favorite. Her keen eye for detail and creativity ensures that every client leaves with a stunning and customized look. In addition to her role at Custom Hair Lounge, Chantel owns another salon on the mainland, where she travels often to maintain and build strong relationships with her clients.
Her commitment to excellence and continuous professional development highlights her dedication to providing top-notch services and education in the hairstyling industry.

Maddy Manager Stylist
Born and raised in the Comox Valley, Maddy's journey in the beauty industry began with a move to Vancouver at 19, where she studied makeup for the film industry at Blanch McDonald. Upon returning to the Valley, she attended Comox Valley Beauty School, where she discovered her true passion for hair.
Maddy's dedication to her craft led her to achieve Redken Certification, becoming a Redken Certified Colorist in December 2017. She is committed to continually expanding her skills and learning new techniques to offer the best to her clients. Recently, Maddy has also added hair extensions to her repertoire, further enhancing her extensive list of achievements. She is thrilled to embark on this new chapter in her career and is eager to welcome clients to her chair, offering them exceptional service and innovative styling.

Lizzie Senior Stylist
Born and raised in the Comox Valley, Lizzie has been immersed in the hair industry since 2015. She is passionate about creating unique and vibrant looks, with a particular flair for women’s funky cuts and colors. Lizzie also specializes in precise men’s fades, showcasing her versatility and artistic eye.
Lizzie thrives on tackling any hair challenge that comes her way, always eager to help her clients discover their perfect style. Her commitment to her craft was further recognized in 2019 when she was invited to participate in RAW (Natural Born Artists). She traveled to the Victoria showcase and earned the opportunity to participate in RAW events worldwide. Lizzie is excited about this next step in her career and looks forward to bringing her creativity and expertise to her clients.

Ri Stylist
Raised in the Comox Valley, Ri graduated from hair academy in early 2021 and quickly made her mark at Custom Hair Lounge. She has grown significantly as a stylist, with a particular passion for men’s cuts, which have become her favorite aspect of hairstyling.
Ri is known for her innovative approach, specializing in fashion colors and funky haircuts while ensuring every salon visit is both fun and uplifting. Her dedication to education is evident—she’s always eager to absorb new techniques and knowledge. Having completed the associate program at Custom Hair Lounge, Ri is enthusiastic about applying her creativity and expertise to deliver outstanding results and memorable experiences for her clients.
Emily Senior Stylist
Emily is a senior stylist with over 20 years of experience in the industry. She began her formal training at Malaspina College, graduating from their hairdressing program in 2004. Her commitment to the craft is reflected in her continuous pursuit of education; she achieved Redken Certification in 2013, followed by a Red Seal Certificate in 2016.
With a deep passion for color and various blonding techniques, Emily excels in creating stunning, personalized results for her clients. She is dedicated to ensuring that every client feels welcomed and leaves loving their hair. Known for her warm personality and ability to make others smile, Emily is thrilled to continue her journey at Custom Hair Lounge and looks forward to bringing joy and expertise to her clients' experiences.
Mykayla Junior Stylist
Born and raised in the small town of Comox Valley, Mykayla graduated high school early to pursue her dream of becoming a hairstylist. From a young age, she has been passionate about "painting hair," and she finds immense joy in working with color. Mykayla thrives on the challenge and transformation that color brings, eagerly embracing the artistry involved.
Dedicated to continuously learning and mastering various hair styles, Mykayla aims to make every salon visit both fun and comfortable. Her enthusiasm for hairstyling and commitment to her craft are evident in her approach. Excited to build her clientele and career, Mykayla looks forward to contributing her skills and energy to Custom Hair Lounge.
Grace Junior Stylist
Grace is a junior stylist and the newest addition to the Custom Hair Lounge team. She completed her training at Vancouver Island University in 2023 and is thrilled to start her professional journey at the salon. With a keen interest in men’s cuts, women’s cuts, and a deep passion for color, Grace brings a fresh perspective and boundless enthusiasm to her work.
Her goal is to make every client feel exceptional, ensuring they leave the salon with a look that makes them feel like their best self. Grace is committed to blending her creativity with technical skill to provide outstanding results and a welcoming, enjoyable experience for everyone who sits in her chair. Excited about the opportunities ahead, Grace is dedicated to growing her expertise and building lasting relationships with her clients at Custom Hair Lounge.
Jessie Junior Stylist
Jessie moved to the island in 2017 from Winnipeg to live in Nanaimo, and came to settle down in Comox in late 2018, and she is loving it here! Jessie recently graduated from Keystone College( former del rio academy). Jessie has always been in love with hair and everything beauty and has dreamed of doing hair since she was a child. Her favorite thing about being a hairstylist would have to be any type of color, the transformations, and how you can build someones confidence and make them feel good! Jessie loves meeting new people and Is looking forward to building her career and clientele here in this beautiful place with this amazing team!

Sacha Scott
Sacha’s clients truly appreciate her attention to detail and ability to make you compactly comfortable during your visit. Her goal is to always exceed your expectations and make you feel spectacular. It is important to Sacha that she creates a space that is inclusive and judgment free. She wants you to feel confident in the skin you are in, you will find yourself leaving with a new best friend!
Sacha began her career as a certified Esthetician/ Spa Therapist over 19 years ago. She attended The Academy of Excellence in Victoria where she finished top of her class obtaining her Esthetics and Spa Therapy Diploma. After graduating Sacha was fortunate enough to apprentice at a well-recognized CIDESCO spa in the heart of Oak Bay. This is where she found her passion for all aspecs of waxing and skin care. Sacha brought her expertise to the Comox Valley in 2006. Over the course of her career, she has worked an educator sharing her love for waxing nation-wide all while perfecting her own skills and creating a name for herself here in the Valley.
Sacha believes that a great waxing experience extends beyond the salon. She will educate you on your skin care needs to insure the best results possible.
