Chantel Owner Stylist
Chantel is a distinguished Senior Master Stylist and the proud owner of Custom Hair Lounge. Her journey in the hairstyling industry began at Utopia Academy in 2000, where she laid the foundation for her career. Following her education, Chantel spent 8 years refining her craft at Spa Utopia, gaining extensive experience and expertise.
With over 23 years in the field, Chantel has established herself as a highly skilled and knowledgeable stylist. She is certified in all Babe hair extensions and, in 2019, traveled to Salt Lake City, Utah, to become a Babe extension educator. Her dedication to the craft extends beyond client service; she is passionate about mentoring and training fellow stylists in the art of hair extensions.
Chantel specializes in balayage, highlights, and various blonde techniques, with balayage being her personal favorite. Her keen eye for detail and creativity ensures that every client leaves with a stunning and customized look. In addition to her role at Custom Hair Lounge, Chantel owns another salon on the mainland, where she travels often to maintain and build strong relationships with her clients.
Her commitment to excellence and continuous professional development highlights her dedication to providing top-notch services and education in the hairstyling industry.

Maddy Manager Stylist
Born and raised in the Comox Valley, Maddy's journey in the beauty industry began with a move to Vancouver at 19, where she studied makeup for the film industry at Blanch McDonald. Upon returning to the Valley, she attended Comox Valley Beauty School, where she discovered her true passion for hair.
Maddy's dedication to her craft led her to achieve Redken Certification, becoming a Redken Certified Colorist in December 2017. She is committed to continually expanding her skills and learning new techniques to offer the best to her clients. Recently, Maddy has also added hair extensions to her repertoire, further enhancing her extensive list of achievements. She is thrilled to embark on this new chapter in her career and is eager to welcome clients to her chair, offering them exceptional service and innovative styling.

April Senior Stylist/ Manager
April has been in the hair industry since 2008, beginning her journey after graduating high school early and jumping straight into hairdressing school to pursue her passion from day one.
Over the years, April has refined her craft and is now known as a blonde specialist, recognized for her speed, precision, and clean foil work. As a mom of two boys, she’s especially great with children and is known for delivering quick, smooth haircuts that make little ones feel comfortable in the chair.
April welcomes all clients, offering men’s cuts, women’s cuts of all lengths and styles, and a particular love for long hair.
Whether you’re looking for a calm, quiet appointment or enjoy chatting throughout your visit, April is happy to match your energy and create an experience that feels just right for you.
She is currently accepting new clients and would love to welcome you into her chair.
Toni Senior Stylist
Island born and raised, Toni took her passion for hair and makeup to Vancouver, where she pursued a career in the film industry. After finding success, she realized that being close to family mattered most and made the move back home to Campbell River.
With a fresh, creative approach shaped by her film background, Toni is known for lived-in, textured styles that feel effortless and modern. She specializes in shag-inspired cuts and personalized color, creating looks that are both cool and wearable.
Toni’s goal is to give every client a true “movie star” experience — enhancing natural beauty, complementing face shape, and crafting styles that reflect each individual’s unique personality.
Kanya Stylist
Kanya moved to the Island to enjoy a slower pace of life and quickly fell in love with the community. She has a genuine passion for hair and enjoys creating styles that make her clients feel confident and comfortable.
Kanya is skilled in both women’s and men’s cuts, offering everything from classic styles to fresh, modern looks. Known for her calm presence, she loves quiet, relaxed appointments and creates a welcoming, easygoing experience in her chair.
Outside of the salon, Kanya is a proud dog lover and truly appreciates peaceful, quiet time — a vibe she brings into every appointment.
Jorja Jr Stylist
Jorja is an apprentice stylist at Custom Hair Lounge with a strong passion for learning and growing within the hair industry. She graduated from the Fundamentals of Hair Cutting and Styling program at Foundation Hair Academy in the Comox Valley in June and is currently completing the Hair Colour and Chemical course, with an expected completion date of November 2025.
Jorja loves all things hair and is especially enjoying working on blended layers, face framing, and expanding her skills in blonding and updos. She is dedicated to developing her craft and creating beautiful results as she continues her education.
When she’s not in the salon, Jorja enjoys exploring the outdoors and spending time with her two dogs.
Kyleigh Stylist
Kyleigh began her hair career in Chilliwack in 2017, where she developed a strong technical foundation and a passion for creating lived-in, dimensional hair. Early in her career, she discovered a love for balayage and highlights, focusing on soft blends and natural-looking results that grow out beautifully.
After taking a couple of years away from the industry, Kyleigh returned to hair with a renewed appreciation for her craft and a fresh perspective behind the chair. Her time away reinforced her passion for helping clients feel confident and comfortable while creating styles that suit their lifestyle.
After moving to the Island, Kyleigh embraced a slower pace of life and the balance it brings. Outside of the salon, she enjoys spending quality time with her child and making the most of Island living. Kyleigh looks forward to welcoming both new and returning clients and creating personalized, feel-good hair that fits seamlessly into everyday life.
Sharon Senior Stylist
Sharon has a strong passion for men’s cuts, precision haircuts, and all things color. She thrives in the fast-paced energy of the salon and loves the hustle behind the chair, creating consistent, high-quality results for her clients.
Known for her efficiency, attention to detail, and upbeat personality, Sharon enjoys working across a wide range of services and takes pride in delivering hair that not only looks great but fits her clients’ lifestyle.
Beyond the salon, Sharon is deeply committed to giving back to the community and is always happy to support local initiatives. She is also a busy mom of two and a proud dog mom to two dogs. Sharon brings her passion, dedication, and heart into everything she does and looks forward to welcoming both new and returning clients at Custom Hair Lounge.
